Following a series of personal tragedies including the death of more than 30 friends and family members mostly due to lifestyle choices and negative behaviors, Marc now dedicates his life to sharing his story worldwide in order to inspire others to make positive choices. His passion for reaching youth with his Champion of Choices School Program saves lives, encourages youth to achieve their goals and helps them become the Champions they are destined to be.
Goal of Champion of Choices
Positive choices are the key to the healthy development of America's youth and lay the foundation to strengthen families and society. The goal of the Champion of Choices School Program is to provide a motivational learning experience for youth that builds positive life skills. In an entertaining and compelling manner, Marc Mero addresses bullying, peer pressure, substance abuse, and suicide prevention. Students are encouraged to cherish relationships, dream big and pursue worthy goals as they discover their own unique life purpose. Marc teaches: "Your friends are like elevators; they either take you up or they take you down!" Marc Mero's one-hour, multimedia presentation engages this hard-to-reach audience at a “heart level,” makes an emotionally powerful impact, and is described as “life changing.”

Marc Mero is no stranger to the negative impacts of bullying. Today Marc dedicates his life to instilling positive behaviors in others. Bullying is a form of harassment and can be defined as a willful attempt to control others through verbal abuse, exclusion, or physical violence. It occurs among children, teens and adults in multiple settings.
Sadly, bullying even takes place within families. Repeated emotional and physical abuse can tragically lead to suicide or have life-long consequences on an individuals self-esteem and well-being. One of the biggest challenges I face daily is bullying. Many of the “bullies” have no idea of how much harm they cause in the lives of their victims. Marc’s presentation really packs a punch in regards to stopping bullying. The impact with our students was felt immediately. It was like a burden was lifted off of their shoulders and they were ready to get on with their lives, and together, put a stop to bullying. The presentation touches all students and staff, and takes them on a roller coaster ride of emotions, through the highs and lows of Marc’s life and career. I was truly moved by your whole presentation, but what really stood out to me was all the death in your life, and also the teen suicides that you have come across. I have contemplated suicide before, but I always come to the conclusion that I deserve to live to be married and have children, and that it wouldn't be fair to hurt my loved ones like that. But something about your presentation really made me think more seriously about the whole subject. After learning about all you've been through, it's showed me that someone who's seen quite darker times than myself can pull through it, and that I should be able to as well.
